# Short filter

## What is Short filter

When the Market Pulse Index triggers a short signal and the Cumberland USDT Distribution’s 7-day cumulative USDT transfer volume exceeds 10% of overall liquidity (USD), the “No-Short Filter” is triggered.

## How to use Short filter

The Short Filter (i.e., the “No-Short Filter”) is designed to keep you from shorting into a one-sided uptrend (the ❌ marks on the chart). While it may cause you to miss some short-side profits, it helps you avoid getting squeezed by shorting too early—such as at points A and B. In many cases, once the “No-Short Filter” fires, more attractive short setups tend to appear later (see the orange arrows).
